Picture Highlights from SAPPHIRE NOW & TechEd Madrid

3 Days of SAPPHIRE NOW and SAP TechEd from Madrid are over, and it was a pleasure being your social ambassador for Database & Technology. It was my first time in Madrid and it was very fascinating to see both show floors combined and the mix of people in both areas. I took a lot of pictures, videos, sent out tweets and updates during these few days and want to share my D&T picture highlights with you.

On the SAPPHIRE NOW side, there were lots of discussions around the latest apps powered by SAP HANA, the recent CRM on SAP HANA announcement and we had a packed session on Day 3 hosted by Steve Lucas in the D&T campus. In general, sessions with customers sharing their feedback were audience magnets throughout the conference.

While I was very active on the SAPPHIRE NOW side, I enjoyed the TechEd show floor with its casual atmosphere. Most of their sessions were packed, from SAP NetWeaver roadmap, to SAP NetWeaver Cloud, Gateway, HANA or the Startup Lounge.

One of my favorite working areas was the social media hub, not only because we had a designated area to work at, but it was a good opportunity to meet all the other social ambassadors.

I had the pleasure to meet some startups that work with SAP HANA and they shared their experience with SAP HANA and the Startup Focus program on camera with the Head of Database & Technology Marketing, Amit Sinha.

In my first post I shared the picture of Luisa Deplazes Delgado at our CRM on SAP HANA demo table. On Day 3 we had a special guest as well. Jim Hagemann Snabe, Co-CEO of SAP, passed the SAP Runs SAP area and explored some demos.

The third day was all about Dr. Vishal Sikka's keynote, the closing event for SAPPHIRE NOW and TechEd from Madrid. I was very excited, since we were waiting for new HANA milestones to be announced. Also, I had a special task on this day. Jake Klein agreed to publish a blog and be part of a video interview around the introduction of the River Definition Language (RDL), a new HANA development experience, announced during Vishal's keynote.

During the keynote, Vishal also announced that HANA has 615+ customers to-date and SAP recently conducted the 1 Petabyte Performance Benchmark on SAP HANA. Two HANA customers joined us on-stage, Kingfisher and Lenovo, to talk about their experience with HANA and how it helped to transform their businesses. The highlight of the conference was sitting in the second row at Vishal's keynote next to customers and influencers!

I hope to see you next time again!

Hasta Luego y muchisimas gracias!
